Linda Lange (Glass)

Linda M. Glass

Linda M. Glass, age 68, of Evansville died Friday, February 5, 2010, at Deaconess Hospital.

She was born in Vincennes, Indiana on January 3, 1942 to Carl and Isabel (Schnitz) Lange.

Surviving her are her sister, Priscilla and husband Victor Klein of Vincennes; daughter, Karla Johnson of Vincennes; son, Anthony Salts of Evansville; daughter, Tonya and husband Kevin Dassel of Norfolk, VA; and step-daughter Cyndi Glass of Vincennes. Especially dear to her were her grandchildren, Kennedy Lange Salts; Karl Jakob, Hanna Lynn, and Carrie Elizabeth Dassel.

Preceding her in death was her husband Robert David Glass and her brother Ronald Lange.

Linda was a retired Registered Nurse of 35 years who worked the majority of her career at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School and the Vincennes University School of Nursing.

Linda was a docent with her husband and children for many years at Mesker Zoo, an avid supporter of the 4-H American Saddle Horse Breeders Club, a member of the Hallmark Collector’s Club, and a member of the American Sewing Guild. She enjoyed many hobbies, with her favorites including photography, through which she won many awards, gourmet cooking and baking, knitting, and sewing.

After retiring, she enjoyed a second career as a full-time "Grammy." She found immense joy in spending time with her four grandchildren, and introduced them to many of their favorite activities and hobbies. Linda especially enjoyed travelling to see them, going all the way from Keflavik, Iceland to Honolulu, Hawaii, and travelling from Hershey, Pennsylvania along the coastline to the Outer Banks of North Carolina, stopping at every lighthouse along the way. As often as she could, she would bring Kennedy along with her so that she could be with all four of her grandkids together.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Indiana Horse Rescue, The Humane Society, or any homeless shelter. There will be a graveside service held on Tuesday, February 9 at Fairview Cemetery in Vincennes at 2 p.m. (EST). Goodwin Funeral Home in Vincennes is in charge of arrangements.
